Objective This study is undertaken to explore the early parental separationexperience of patients with neurotic disorders, schizophrenia and normal people, anddiscuss the relationship between neurotic disorders and the early parental separationexperience.Methods Random sampling method was used. Choosing neurotic disorders andschizophrenia meeting the International Classification of Diseases Tenth Revision(ICD-10) diagnostic for neurotic disorders and schizophrenia was included as the casegroup, who were continuously in the hospital in Anhui medical university institute(The Fourth People’s Hospital of Hefei) of mental health clinical psychiatrist from May2012to October2013, and several age-and tender-and education matched normalpeople were chosen as the control group using random sampling method. Three groupswere surveyed with the early parental separation experience questionnaire. Thestatistical data of the early parental separation experience of neurotic disorders,schizophrenia and normal people were statistical analysis.Result The percentage of the early parental separation experience (χ2=7.113,15.092respectively), the percentage of being in different province from parents duringseparation experiences (χ2=8.213,10.425respectively), the percentage of negativeevaluation to the separation experiences (p=11.051,9.273respectively) in the neurotic disorders group were significantly higher than those of the schizophrenia and thenormal group (p<0.05or p<0.01). In the type of raising people among the neuroticdisorders, schizophrenia (χ2=10.433) and control group (χ2=12.273) had all significantdifferences (all p<0.05). Both the schizophrenia group (χ2=12.159, p<0.05) and thenormal group (χ2=12.221, p<0.05) had significant difference with the neuroticdisorders group in the frequency of contacting parents after separating(subjectivefeelings), etc.Conclusion Compare with normal people, neurotic disorders patient have more earlyseparation experiences with parents, and most of their subjective feelings of separationexperience are negative. Showing that early experience of separation from parents isone of the psychosocial factors of adult incidence of neurotic disorders. During theseparation between parents and children, parents should take care of the children on thesubjective feelings of the separation of the incident and maintaining close emotionalconnection with their children to help reducing the adult incidence of neuroticdisorders.
