Resentment And Its Alleviation In China’s Society Transition

The government, the society and related scholars’ are paying more and more attentions to social emotions, because it’s increasingly playing important role in our country’s political and social development.30years of reform and opening up has brought the political, economic, cultural and social prosperity and progress to the whole of our country, but appeared resentment in the process, it will have far-reaching effect on the state’s political development, so we need to pay high attention to it, and to search for the variety of social and political reasons. The author take Minhang district as an example, on the basis of academics relevant research results and hybrid method to take probative and descriptive study, conclude that there is a widespread resentment mood. The generation of the resentment from four aspects:the economic interests and political rights loss, the lack of social mobility of stagnation, and the value confusion. In the conclusion, the author puts forward relevant countermeasures to resolve the resentment from economic, political, social and cultural view. This study has high value and larger significance, for it provides the theory reference and realistic basis to understand the present situation of resentment, dissolve the public resentment mood, promote social transformation smoothly and construct a human-oriented socialist harmonious society.The dissertation mainly divided into four parts.The first chapter introduces the concept, structure and function of resentment, the empirical research method and paper investigation process. Resentment is refers to the social a class or group of resentment, it is the general public attention in social problems and social injustice or individual (or group) suffering experience or concerns and care for potential social crisis. It is a prominent group social mentality and emotions. China in the transformation period, the social, cultural and political structure are all in change, people take pressure accentuates, then social discontent and resentment will accumulate gradually. So it is necessary to empirically analyze the structure and function of resentment.The second chapter presents the performance and features of resentment. In the analysis of the political perspective, the dissertation investigates and summarizes the public’s resentment on real significance, think that the resentment has expanded into society’s general emotion. The specific performance are individual and group resentment, violent and nonviolent resentment, point to officials and political departments resentment.The third chapter basically analyses the causes of resentment. The current public resentment is mainly produced in new interests and system basis, the main reasons reflected in economy, politics, society and culture; this can be verified through the public’s interviews and questionnaires. The social discontent will affect people to doubt on the government, and to reduce the degree of agreement to the government’s legitimacy.The last chapter mainly aimed at the relief mechanism of resentment, and sums up relieving mechanism of resentment from the political, economic, cultural and social aspects. Specific include realize distribution justice, security political rights, dredge pipe and cultivate social mobility common value four aspects.
