Research On The Consolidation And Building Of CPC In Shanghai During The Early Years Of New China

The consolidating and building of the Party have seen through the whole process of revolution and construction led by CPC. In the first few years after China declared independence, CPC was confronted with problems such as the new administrating, environment, new international and domestic circumstances as well as defects within the Party system and its members. Hence, it was quite necessary to enhance and improve the leadership of CPC by the consolidation and building of the Party. By a systematic analysis and observation of the historic background, the proceeding its main features and reasons for its inefficiency of the consolidation and building of the Party in Shanghai during the early years of New China, this paper attempts to contribute to Party’s construction in some way.After the liberation, the Party system of Shanghai was confronted with a complicated and harsh status-quo. Meanwhile, the Party system in Shanghai was shouldering the historic responsibility to carry out socialist revolution and construction along with all people in Shanghai The primary-level organization of the Party and both the quantity and quality of its members were lagging behind in terms of the constructional work that it was then undertaking. Therefore, the Party needed to strengthen its self-construction so as to meet the new demand after the shift of focus of the work as well as the historical responsibility.After the first national conference, Shanghai Municipality forcefully and energetically implemented the decision and instruction from The Central Committee of the Communist Party to consolidate and build the Party. Under the leadership of East China Station, the Party building began, which was followed by the study of research papers and the profiles of the Party consolidation and building in city and district-level organizations, the training of core party members, the release of the project of party building and the education towards Party members,Party activists and league members. Along with the movement against Three Evils, the Shanghai municipality launched Party building in large and full scale in a thorough and cautious way. The effect of the movement against Three Evils was also the most telling evidence that the Party building during that period was deep in depth, complete and thorough. Among the first few years after China declared independence, consolidation and building of the Party movement in Shanghai has done much work actively and carefully, including:fortifying the education of Communism and the Communists eight conditions, the action against the bureaucracy, the command ’and lawlessness, and form registration and organizational identification. All these work ensured the consolidation and building of the party being conducted in an orderly way. At the same time, through the elaboration and investigation of the early days of consolidation and building of the Party movement, the author finds that a lot of preparation work had been done before its fully implementation, which refers to the trial in a typical area to acquire enough experience for the whole movement. It was carried out by paying due attention to the close connection with the other work dealt with at the same time. At the same time, the party’s organizational and institutional construction was also on the schedule of the work, focusing on the introduction and summary of lessons learned to improve their work in a timely manner.Through the consolidation and building of the Party movement, the ideological consciousness of the majority of party members has been enhanced; the Party organizations have been purified; the ties between the party and the people have been fastened; and the work style, methods and efficiency have been improved. It also fortifies the solidarity within the Party and enlarges the Party. Although there are some deficiencies and deviations needed to be made up for and corrected in the early days of the whole Party movement, such as the lack in thought leadership and operational guidance from the party committees, the superficiality and formality of certain work, the appearance of some weak loops and changeable minds during the movement, and the misunderstanding of the principles of the movement, it still makes great achievements as a whole. It can be said to be a successful consolidation and building of the party movement with a lot of significant revelation for the current stage of our Party’s building work, which must be guided by scientific theories, guaranteed by the democratic and scientific system, and pushed forward in a scientific way to close the ties between the party and the masses.
