From World To China, Study The Weakening Of The Credibility Of Government

The credibility of the government refers to the ability of the government possessingpublic trust through administrative actions. Based on the recognition that government’scredibility is result of government behavior rather than the public’s judgment, we knowthat government’s credibility is assessed according to the administrative effects ofgovernment administrative behavior and the results would manifest recognition of publictowards the government. If the public evaluation for the government behavior is high, thenthe government’s credibility is strong, otherwise, weak. Since the government’s credibilityis a kind of ability, it can be converted into influence and appeal in the administrationprocess which would help to carry out administrative activities, achieve the desiredadministration effects and consolidate the ruling status of the government. Thegovernment’s credibility, a kind of objective existence and intangible political resourceswith unique subject, is of great significance for the Party to consolidate its ruling status, topromote the development of market economy, and to build a harmonious socialist society.So the government credibility research and construction means a lot. According to the analysis of governments’ credibility research, we concluded that thegovernment’s credibility decline phenomenon is widespread throughout the world. Socialand economic transition period and the rapid increase of social conflicts in developingcountries leads to the weakening of the government credibility, western developedcountries weakened phenomenon also exists. From this analysis, we summed up thegeneral from of weakening governments’ credibility: questioned government legitimacy,reduced governmental public products, increased government decision-making executiondifficulty and dropped social public satisfaction levels. Combined with the reality of ourcountry, the present research put forward the strategies of enhancing the governmentcredibility: the social credit environment construction, service-oriented governmentconstruction, improvement of the effective supervision system, and enhancing of politicalcommunication and citizen participation.This research put forward the definition of the government’s credibility and relatedfrom the perspective of government credibility produce main body, and the article wasdivided into three parts: The government’s credibility problem was put forward in the firstpart; worldwide weakening of government’s credibility was presented in second part; andthe third contained the targeted strategies for enhancing the government credibility.Based on the research of the government credibility, this study has certain referencesignificance for how to improve the level of administration of the government at all levelsin our country, enhance mutual trust between the government and the public, and build aharmonious society.
