Corruption is called "political cancer". No matter in China or abroad corruption is a widespread phenomenon, corruption has become a global problem. Xi jinping, li keqiang and other state leaders also put forward the importance of anti-corruption on many occasions, Xi jinping pointed out:Some countries have led to social unrest and regime collapsed because of a long time the contradiction, a large number of facts tell us that the problem of corruption intensified, would ultimately destroying the party and subjugating the country! We should be watchful! This shows the state determination to fight against corruption.Foreign research institutions and scholars in addition to qualitative research the causes of corruption, the role of corruption and corruption governance mode, they also quantitative research corruption causes and consequences of corruption. Compared with foreign researchers Chinese scholars on the issue of corruption are mostly concentrated in the concept of corruption, causes, generate links, and countermeasures to deal with the problem of corruption. Methodological research related corruption, the reality of corruption and the impact of corruption are less studied. And most of the researches are used literature analysis, rarely used quantitative analysis. The Internet is one of the main ways of modern information dissemination, the government, society and individuals through the Internet technology can cooperate with each other to complete the task of anti-corruption. At present domestic research to Internet and government corruption or e-government and government corruption is less, and most is qualitative research, lack of empirical research. On the basis of summarizing institutions and scholars research on Internet and government relations, this paper from improving the government administrative efficiency and reducing government corruption two aspects to describe the role of the Internet for government. Then with the aid of SPSS, EVIEWS, STATA, this paper analyzes the relationship between Internet application and government corruption using70countries panel data. Finally, from the two aspects of the Internet penetration level and government websites, this paper put forward corresponding recommendations to improve the level of Internet applications. The empirical results show that the two-way causal relationship exists between the Internet adoption and government corruption.
