From October1949to September1976after the founding of new China MAO zedong died27years, MAO zedong is the actual leader of the Chinese socialist revolution and construction, so whether foreign or domestic, all call this period "the MAO era." New-democratic revolution period, the rise of mass movement experience, maturity and development of three stages is the basis of the practice of MAO zedong’s mass sports thought. After the founding of new China, MAO zedong chose the mass movement as a major means of governing a country, its content includes three aspects:first, through to the definition of "the people" MAO zedong to determine the main body of mass movement; Second, the awareness of the social principal contradiction analysis is the power of the mass movement; Third, propaganda, organizational control, profit-driven mass movement way of organization. Use mass movement way of governing the practice can be divided into new-democratic to a socialist transition period, the comprehensive construction of the socialist period and three stages of "cultural revolution" period, based on the three stages of the subject and effect of the mass movement of review to study MAO zedong’s mass movements of statecraft. Finally, from two aspects of reasonable composition and historical limitations evaluation ideas and practices of mass movement.Through research of after the founding of new China the MAO zedong’s mass movement thought and the practice, the following conclusions:First, the mass movement of governance is conducive to the establishment of the socialist system and consolidate. Second, MAO zedong in the process of governing the awareness of the social principal contradiction of the deviation, lead to the whole society in deep the of "class warfare", this is the Governing idea’s mistake, not mass movement’s own mistakes. Third. historical experiences and lessons we should realize the social development law, correct understanding of the social principal contradiction, everything for the masses, all rely on the masses, mobilize the enthusiasm of the masses, by constantly developing social productivity to achieve the success of the cause of socialism.
