Egypt has a long history and civilization, and also is an important political powerof the contemporary in Middle East. In January,2011, a big street protest broke out inEgypt; it pushed Egypt once again to the international political arena, and attractedextensive academic attention. This project explores the origin and development ofconstitutional change and other related concepts based on historical materialism anddialectical materialism, and makes full use of related research results of legal history,comparative constitutional studies, comparative politics science and internationalpolitics science, meanwhile, uses multidisciplinary research methods. On this basis,this project studies the change course of Egypt’s constitution systematically, andanalyzes the characteristics and reasons of its change in different history periods.Besides, this project also discusses the influences of Islamic revivalism, militaryregime, socialist thought and the constitution and constitutionalism of Westerncountries to the changes of the Egypt constitution. Finally, this project discusses thedevelopment trend of the Egypt constitution and constitutionalism and its referencesignificance to developing countries in the future.According to the background of excess political power of leader in Egypt, theprocess of change on Egypt constitution is divided into five periods: original period,Nasser period, Sadat period, Muhamed Hosni Mubarak period and After a period ofHosni Mubarak. In Early Stage, the constitution in Egypt mainly imitated Westerncountries, especially their metropolitan state. During Nasser period, the change of theconstitution in Egypt were mainly influenced by socialist thought, Islamic RevivingMovement and the military regime, along with Strong characteristics of The Times.Because of the changing situation of economics and politics at home and abroad andthe need of developing constitutionalism, the first Permanent constitution in thehistory of Egypt was issued. Besides, Egypt strongmen Hosni Mubarak regime madetwo changes to the constitution in order to adapt to the development request and boostthe reformation of political system. The coverage and potency dimension of thechange to constitution in2007is the most widely. At the beginning of2011,after theoutburst of Egypt mass street protests several problems such as constitutionamendment, parliamentary election and presidential election were urgent, for thepolitical unrest in Egypt the total trend of change in Egypt constitution is to create anconstitution according to the Egyptian national conditions, combining local resourcesand meeting the needs of development, meanwhile, with Islamic characteristics.
