Deng Xiaoping is the second generation of leadership core in China, and he is the chiefarchitect of China’s socialist reform and opening up and modernization construction. DengXiaoping initiated the reform and opening up policy, which changed China’s20th century andaffect the world. Comprehensive reform is started form the countryside, which brought greatvigor and vitality for rural development and promoted the rapid development of the rural.Rural reform thought is an important part of Deng Xiaoping’thought. It is important to Studyon Deng Xiaoping’s thought of rural reform, not only deepen our understanding of DengXiaoping’ thought but also have an integral cognitive about building and reform of China’scountryside. Last but not least, there are many new problems in the process of ruraldevelopment, so study on Deng Xiaoping’s thought of rural reform can provide an importanttheory and practice for rural development.My paper has four parts to study on Deng Xiaoping’s thought of rural reform.First, the formation of Deng Xiaoping’s rural reform ideas. Second, the main contents ofthe rural reforms which were lead by Deng Xiaoping. This stage includes the changes aboutproduction relations, the separation of party and government, the thinking of the scaleoperations, the thinking about development of township enterprises, the thinking of respectfor the farmers. Third, the main characteristics of Deng Xiaoping rural reform theory, whichincludes emphasis on the development of productivity, the ultimate goal about appropriatescale, respect the subjectivity of farmers; adhere to the guiding of seeking ideas. Fourth, greatsignificance and revelation of Deng Xiaoping’s idea of reform.
