Thailand is one of the important countries in Southeast Asia.With the longhistory and abundant culture,Thailand’s economic developed rapidly.As amulti-ethnic country, ethnic relations are complicated, the ethnic question has becomethe tough problem in Thailand.The main ethnic of Thailand is Thai, Thai plays dominant role in political andeconomic area, other ethnic minorities mainly refers to the mountain ethnic innorthern of the country and southern ethnic Malays. Thai has been always seekingnational political integration, trying to narrow the ethnic cultural differences andgap,such as: develop economy, level of the minority areas, improve the level ofeducation,strengthen language education, religion assimilation.Under the assimilationpolicy, villagers in northern is in a very slow speed rolling in Thai society, because ofdispersive, backward culture, weak political power.Meanwhile, due to the purity oftheir common faith, which leads to strong cohesion, the southern Malay successivelylifted the ethnic separatist movement,cause the instability for the whole countries andregions.In southern Thailand, political integration is facing many problems, theseparation of religious extremist movement, regional economic development gap,Northern mountain ethnic groups and southern Malays ethnic groups’s life isrelatively poor, The speed of economic development lags far behind the centralBangkok area.Plus the unfair state power, only a small part of the minority elites canenter into the thai political system, most of the country’s civil servants are taken bythai ethnic group.In order to promote national political integration process in Thailand, this paperputs forward three integrated mechanism: recognition mechanism,“advanced drivingmechanism” of economic integration and the civil rights balances mechanism, thesethree mechanisms, respectively, from the view of the political identity, economicsupport, and power restriction.By analysising the process of thai national politicalintegration, eliminate distrust,narrow the economic gap, expand political consensusbetween ethnic groups, in order to establish a complete, stability and prosperity ofThailand.
