In recent years, with increasingly opening to the foreign banks and the development and innovation of the domestic banking, the requirements for Chinese regulatory authorities become more strict. It is very important for our country to learn some foreign advanced experiences in the situation that Chinese Bank Supervision Legal System is imperfect and the regulation model is relatively backward. England has a long development history of bank as a historic capitalist country, and London has become an international financial center in modern times. As the Financial Supervision Legal System reforms succeed in the end of the20th century, the reformed banking has a leading position in the world’s financial system. Its sound Supervision Legal System and extensive experiences in supervision are worthy of our reference. Therefore this article sums up the characteristics by sorting out the current British Bank Supervision Legal System and analyzing the causes of it. And this article combines our country actual condition to analyze the current situation of Chinese Bank Supervision Legal System, and which provides some experiences to help our country maintain a stable and healthy development of the banking in the world market.The first part of this paper describes the general situation of the British Bank Supervision Legal System development. From the perspective of legal history, the development of the British Bank Supervision Legal System can be divided into three stages, namely the informal regulatory period, the single subject regulatory period, the all-round regulatory period. And this paper analyzes the characteristics and causes of each stage.The second section describes the characteristics of the current British Bank Supervision Legal System. Through analyzing the history of the British Bank Supervision Legal System, this paper comes to the characteristics of it, which are the mutual cooperation of the regulation subjects, the mixed regulation model, the excellent system of information publication, the strict market access system and the perfect market exit system. This paper analyzes and reviews these characteristics one by one.The third section describes the causes of the British Bank Supervision Legal System and the formation of the features in each stage. Specific to the characteristics of the British Supervision Legal System, its causes mainly include the rapid economical development, the constant adjustment of the regulation model, the long history of the legal system, the mixed operating requirements, the needs to stabilize the financial order and the implementation of the policies on protecting the interests of depositors. The six factors combine together to form the characteristics of the current British Bank Supervision Legal System.The fourth section describes the current situation of the Chinese Bank Supervision Legal System and lessons from the United Kingdom. Through sorting out and analyzing the current Chinese Bank Supervision Legal System as well as comparing the Sino-British Bank Supervision Legal System, this paper puts forward some existing problems and give the rational suggests, such as the division of labor and responsibilities of the regulation subjects are not clear; the system of information publication is transparent; the regulation model is unreasonable and the Supervision Legal System is incomplete. And this paper analysis these problems correspondingly.The last part is a summary of the key point of this text.
