Hope Project’s Construction Concerned By Successive Leaders

The ‘Hope Project’ is a social welfare activity which is initiated and organized by the China YouthDevelopment Foundation since October1989.Hope Project aims to raise money and donations forschools in order to maintain the children’s fundamental rights of receiving basic education in poor areas.In the past24years, Hope Project not only helps promote the development of basic education inpoverty-stricken areas, but also develops a new trend of the times. Moreover, it binds the positive energyin the society together and promotes the building of socialist spiritual civilization, which reflects thesuperiority of the socialist system.However,‘Hope Project’does not come out by accident because thethoughts of developing education has always been exsiting through out our history. Mao Zedong, DengXiaoping, Jiang Zemin, Hu Jintao and other national leadersall discussed the problem of education inpoor areas in different occasions. In fact, national leaders such as Deng Xiaoping, Jiang Zemin haveoffered great support to the Hope Project and they had taken a great number of feasible actions.Thispaper attempts to illustrate the perspective from successive leaders on the importance of education inpoor areas, explore the assistance that Deng Xiaoping, Jiang Zemin had provided to ‘Hope Project’ andgive theoretical basis for the solution to the future development of the Hope Project.This paper have usedsome research methods including literature review, questionnaire surveys, participatory observation tounderstand the history and grasp the objective reality which offers reference to solve real-world’sdevelopment.The article includes four chapters.The first three chapters combined the summary of main thoughts about development of education inpoor areas by Mao Zedong, Deng Xiaoping, Jiang Zemin, Hu Jintao and other successive national leaders.With the help of reviewing the extensive literature, the historical origins of Hope Project could beunderstood better.The fourth chapter is based on large amounts of text data which was supplemented byfield surveys and observation experience. At the same time, it based on the study and analysis ofthe firstthree chapters which explores the construction and development of the Hope Project.The main innovation of this paper lies in three aspects.To begin with, the total review of theliterature on theoretical study of the Hope Projects as this part is almost empty before. The researches inthe past often focused on information and documentary and most of them were around the specificcircumstances of the various provinces and cities.“Hope Project is a flag of Zhejiang public welfare”,“Hope Project Guizhou mode” and “Analysis and development thinking of Hope Project’s social effects,Case of Henan Province” are the cases in point.In addition this paper focuses on the research of theHope Projectby using the literature review and research methods such as observation. Futhermore, itindicates the current difficultiesthat needs to be faced and solved by the Hope Project. Finally,it respondsto some difficult challenges, explore scientific and feasible methods which may provide some help forthe Hope Project construction via using scientific development concept toguide the Hope Project is aninnovation too.
