The former American Psychological Association Chairman Martin Seligman to create a positive psychology in 1998, and identified some positive characteristics of the individual (such as optimism, hope, courage and perseverance, etc.) have the important role of psychology. In recent years, with the development of positive psychology, hope was gradually to go into the fields of scientific psychology, show the significant influence of hope on education, medicine and psychology.In addition, Snyder and his colleagues done many researches,the results show that the one's levels of hope have significantly related to one's mental health, physical health and life satisfaction.On the basis of reviewing former researcher's descriptions on the concept of hope,the measures of hope and influence factors,In order to investigate the leves and characteristics of hope of 670 civil servants from Xi'an.and the relations among role stress, hope and well-being. We use the method of questionnaires survey.In data processing, we use confirmatory factor analysis, correlation analysis, regression analysis and structural equation model statistical methods.The results of the research were as follows:1,The data of 670 civil servants from Xi'an in support of the Hope's two factors (Path Thinking and Agency Thinking) model.2,There were no significant differences among gender,age and education on hope, different hours of work and marital status's individual's scores on hope had significant differences.3,There had significant correlations among role stress,hope and well-being.4,Hope was the mediator between role stress and well-being.For detailed,Agency thinking of hope was the fully mediator between role stress and satisfaction with life, and general health.
