They do very well in protection of forest resources in Ethnic minority areas in Guizhou, thenatural ecological environment and animal and plant natural communities are well-preserved.First, This is because they have rich forest resources in this areas, they get along with forest allday. And they reached a tacit understanding, consensus is a recognized codes of conduct andpractice in the forest production activities. All of these consensus or convention are the specialcustomary law in this area, and it is the customary law of national minority. The second, theseminority customary law as an autonomous norms of the villages in ethnic minority areas, has itsown characteristics, they covering very wide. In history in the state system has not yet fullyin-depth or around the economic life of the ethnic minorities, ethnic minorities customary lawhas become a useful complement of the relevant national laws and regulations. Finally, in theminds of the people of these minorities, these specifications were heritaged from their ancestor, and were closely related with their lives, directly or indirectly have a great binding on theirproduction and living, have been or are still to some extent protect these national minority’sforest resources and ecological environment.Since the reform and opening up, China’s economic development has made greatachievements, the people’s living standard has been improved, overall national strength is everincreasing. Attendant land desertification, desertification, forest resources were destroyed, andeven in some areas there ecological deterioration and retrogression, has become the key tosustainable development and protecting the environment. Huanggang region’s forest coveragerate reached more than70%in forest maintenance and use of the formation of a set of customarylaw, the village forest resources play a very good role in safeguarding the natural environment tothe forest very good advantage, but if the natural environment can not be a conventional rules ofcustomary law or cultural norms, can not be such a good natural environment Statute or effectivemanagement, it still may decay and erosion of forest cover. The Huanggang coupling oftraditional culture and the natural environment, the forest resources to be effective continuation, even later entry of foreign culture, without upsetting the Huanggang customs and traditions Actand the Forestry relationship. Huanggang unique to the region planted rock, buried monument, the Drum Tower is divided and national taboos played a very good protection of forest resources. The environmental protection customary laws in Guizhou Minority Areas, closely relatedwith their ancestral heritage and their lives, have a higher status in their hearts. In fact, the legalsystem of the modern society is far less than these customary law in the effectiveness and statusin the local people’s hearts.
