The substance of Hu Jintao’s theory of leading cadres’ideological and political education (hereinafter refereed to as Hu’s theory) is that the Party Central Committee with comrade Hu Jintao as general secretary put forward the new demands to leading cadres for adapting to the profound changes of the ever-changing international, national and the Party’s conditions of the new period. Based on inheritance and development of Marxism-Leninism, Mao Zedong’s, Deng Xiaoping’s and Jiang Zemin’s theories of leading cadres’ ideological and political education and with new characteristics, new situations, new problems shown in Chinese social practice, Hu’s theory was to further emancipate our minds, seek truth from facts, keep pace with the times, forge ahead and be pioneering and innovative continuously, and it deeply summed up a scientific theory system on a series of new views, conclusions and ideas, such as the strategic position, main content, major route and unique features of leading cadres’ideological and political education. Hu’s theory provided a theoretic foundation for leading cadres’ideological and political education work. It proved that Hu’s theory had the extremely large practical value.This thesis, following the logic of "what"-"how"-"what’s the value", which is an ideological and political education theory for leading cadres put forward by Hu Jintao, is divided into an introduction and three chapters. The introduction introduces the reasons of choosing this topic and the present research situation, and analyzes the theoretical and practical significance of Hu Jintao ideological and political education theory for leading cadres. Firstly, the first chapter clarifies some basic concepts, such as "leading cadres","ideological and political education theory for leading cadres","Hu Jintao ideological and political education theory for leading cadres" and so on. Then this chapter states the differences between "ideological and political education for leading cadres" and "party’s construction", and finally analyzes the historical background of that theory. Secondly, the second chapter first illustrates the strategic position of the Hu Jintao ideological and political education theory for leading cadres, and then traces back to its theoretical origins, pointing out that Hu Jintao ideological and political education theory for leading cadres is not only consistent with the ideological and political education theories for leading cadres put forward by Mao Zedong, Deng Xiaoping and Jiang Zemin, but also has its own innovation. Next this chapter divides the forming stages of the theory in detail, laying a foundation for further research. Finally, the third chapter unfolds the main content, main achieving ways and methods, main principles and significant values of Hu Jintao ideological and political education theory for leading cadres. And in this way the author basically makes its internal structure and operational mechanism burst into bloom.
