The Rend And Prospect Of The "New Left" Thoughts Of China

In the1990s, when China was leading to a secular orbit by the market reform, thesocial ideological trend in China changed obviously, and the “new left faction” occurredat this historical moment. As a kind of influence on social thought, the "new left" caused acertain degree of interference on China’s reform and opening-up program. So makingresearches on the "new left" trend, not only is beneficial to absorb its reasonable viewpoint,but also help to reflect on the impacts of the reform and opening-up. Based on the relatedtheory of Mannheim’s knowledge of sociology, this paper investigates the ideologicalorigin and social background of the emergence of the "new left" trend. And the views ofthe representative figures are concluded, the basic characteristics of the "new left fiction"are summarized on the base of induction, finally the development trend and influence ofthe "new left" trend of thought are discussed.The author believes that the rise of western Marxism, the historical tradition of "left"and the three time’s division in intellectual enlightenment are the historical reasons of therise of the"new left"; The western "new left" movement, as well as the social changescaused by the domestic market reform since the1990s, these reasons altogether constitutethe social background. The author mainly describes the content of the "new left" from fouraspects: the historical point, economic concept, political theory and international view. Onthis basis, the author considers the main characteristics of the “new left” as “rejection ofthe modernity road” and “one-sided emphasis on ‘Chinese Model’”. In the author’sopinion, the actual trend of the "new left" veers to nationalism collectively and worshipsthe national authority profoundly. But lacking of the restraint of religion, humanity andenlightenment value, the more powerful the national capacity is, the more dangerous itsfalling cliff.
