Thomas Henry Huxley is a famous scientist, philosopher and educationalist of Britain in19th century. As one leader of science in the19th century, his scientific thoughts are not brought to the attention of the people for a long time. It is integrated with the mainstream of evolution theory. The second part is mainly the study of Huxley’s scientific methods, including the effective premise of scientific method, the first principles of science:suspect, the universal scientific method and the internal relation between natural thoughts and methodology. Based on the above two chapters, it is thought that the scientific thought of Huxley and its concept of nature is relative. The third part is mainly about the evolutionary ethics of Huxley. It is discussed how to apply the evolutionary view of nature to the field of moral philosophy, namely ethics field. What’s more, noticing the difference between nature and human society, he thought that this theory of evolution cannot be completely applied to human society.
