| Oxygen lance is the key equipment in the steelmaking production, whoseperformances directly affects the quality of the steel. The use of oxygen lancedepends on the spray characteristics of oxygen lance. The coherent jettechnology was a new technology exploited by Praxair Company of America atthe end of last century, which had got successful application in the aspect of theelectric furnace. While it was still not mature enough in the aspect of theconverter which still represented most of the steelmaking production. This essaytakes simulation on the coherent jet of converter with porous oxygen lance asthe main research content to study the flow characteristic between the traditionalconverter jet with porous oxygen lance and the converter coherent jet withporous oxygen lance.The essay adopts software FLUENT which is based on the method ofnumerical simulation to discuss the single-hole oxygen lance jet characteristicson electric furnace and the porous oxygen lance jet characteristics on theconverter. The flow characteristics of oxygen lance with different operationpressures and circumstance temperatures are simulated. And the aggregationstate of jet with the flow is simulated and analyzed. And even the jetcharacteristics of porous oxygen lance and the notes are studied.The fundamental characteristics of the coherent jet are summarized throughthe simulation and analysis, which are the change rule of the jet characteristicwhen the factors of the pressure, the circumstance temperature and the flowstress are changed. In this paper, the following results are obtained: first, severaljet stream has the characteristic without obvious core and the shift to the center.Second, the application of the coherent jet technology on the porous oxygenlance of converter is mainly simulated. And the advantages and disadvantagesare studied to provide theoretical reference to the application of the coherent jettechnology on the converter in the future. |
