Sheet metals Inevitably become distorted in the process of rolling,transportation and cooling, thus, arise shape defects, such as waves in the edgeof plates、wave in the part of plates、buckling. The straightening machine’s roleis to correct the flatness defects of the sheet metals. Its core technology isstraightening model, this model is mainly composed of bending model andbending roll model. There are a lot of information about bending setting andresearch, but very few model data about bending in domestic which doesn’t notconsider the flatness defects and other factors. Therefore, aiming at theshortcomings of the existing model of bending roll, this subject complete thefollowing research work:(1) Using image processing techniques to identify flatness defects. Throughcomparing with the effect of existing mature image processing, this part choosesthe median smoothing filtering and Canny edge detection technique to deal withthe image from the site collection;then using the RBF classifier pick up the edgeof the gray image which is processing after, identify the type of flatness defect;Finally, to deal with the side image of the plate and gain the roughness through asimple calculation.(2) Using the fuzzy theory to complete the amount of bending rollcompensation. This part is based on professor Zhou Cunlong’s amount of rollbending model, according to the theory of fuzzy algorithm, dealing with thestraightening the flatness defect before and after straightening fuzzy processing,draw an intelligent adjustment of fuzzy parameters, the amount of bending rollcompensation to improve the shortcomings of existing physical model, not onlyjoined one important factor-flatness defects in the existing model, and make themodel with the intelligent adaptive ability.(3) The development of the amount of bending roll model process ofsoftware. This part adopts VC++as a development tool, with the backgroundof Oracle10g database to develop fuzzy adaptive compensation amount ofbending roll system. The system not only can adjust the amount of bending rollreal-time model, but also can easily obtain scene image and plates recognition results, the worker can easily use it, system also reserved OPC communicationinterface at the same time, provides the foundation of straightening machine allautomation for the next step. Finally, experiments show that this system is verysuitable for the specification of the bending, straightening defects of strip shapeeffectively, it has a positive meaning for promoting the progress of china’s steelindustry.
