In recent years, with the accelerated urbanization process and the construction of the cities’road and house, which greatly reduce the area of impervious region and promote the phenomenon of urban runoff pollution being worse. The city’s wastewater and storm water are released into lakes and rivers through urban surface runoff, these urban waste will be introduced to the receiving water, and road runoff, as the strongest polluted part of urban runoff, brought very serious consequences for he city water. Therefore, Based on analysis of Hohhot road runoff pollution and reseach existing problems and necessity of pollution control. The main contents of the full text follows:Firstly, it explored the characteristics of Hohhot road runoff pollution. In the study, a typical test begins about selected city roads in the new city of Hohhot, Saihan District, Yuquan District, Muslims, preclude the use of self-flow proportional sampling device, from30games from September in2011to March in2014rainfall runoff flow proportional sampling throughout, while the characteristics pollution indexs of the runoff samples are calculated and the median EMC of SS, COD, NH3-N, Pb, Cd, Zn are analyzed.Secondly, Study on control plan about Hohhot road runoff pollution. According to Hohhot road runoff pollution characteristics and spatial distribution, the effective control measures of runoff pollution program are proposed from multi-angle, multi-level, multi-link views. The control measure and non-engineering technical control measure are proposed; A perfect pollution control plan is put forward from the sources of pollution abatement to proposed system transport route and terminal management control multiple aspects.
