Along with the rapid development of urbanization,China’s population in urban expand rapidly in the past10years. The unreasonable urban land-use,especially the blind pursuit for "Metro" mode of wide roads and large neighborhood, exacerbated the trend of individual motorized travelling. More and more cars crash into the city center not only squeeze the limited road space, increasing traffic congestion, causing the entire city running costly and low efficiency, but also led to severe air and water pollution and public health crisis.Hangzhou,as an international tourist city, located in China’s most economically developed Yangtze River Delta region.In recent years, with the construction of urban sewage pipe network and transforming of city function,point source pollution has been effectively controlled However, non-point source pollution from the irrational land use patterns and road traffic layout structure is becoming the main source of water pollution. In particular, with the rapid growth of cars and other motor vehicles in the main city,urban road runoff pollution more and more serious, has been the most markable reason of Hangzhou river pollution.Thus,studying runoff pollution characteristics deeply and the correlation between the different road layout structure and the runoff pollution have great importance for the controlling and management of non-point source pollution and improvement of water quality of the river.Taking Hangzhou as the research object, select four typical area, CuiJia block on west of Hangzhou, HeMu block on the north, JiuBao block on the east and the higher education block on the northeast. According to flow of crossing traffic, The urban roads is divided into two major categories of transport road and untransport road. based on the road categories,drawing the layout structure picture of four study area, and select road network density, transport road network density, untransport road network density and public transportation network density four indicators to characterize the condition of road traffic layout sturture of four study area.Meanwhile, monitoring10rains and2snows’melting water from March2013to February2014.selecting pH, SS, CODCr, NH3-N, Pb five indicators to characterize the situation of rainfall runoff pollution. Then, using SPSS and Matlab software to analyze the correlation between runoff pollution and road traffic layout structures, the impact of different road traffic layout structure to runoff water quality at the mid-scale, reveal the mechanism of the traffic layout structure impacts on the water environment, investigate possible ways and strategies to optimize the layout structure, decision-making basis for the Study and Treatment of road runoff pollution, and provide decision-making basis for the study and treatment of road runoff pollution.
