Modern Architecture Research West China Union University

West China Union University is located in Chengdu Sichuan province，which is typical modern buildings of church university combined well ofChinese and western, and is also few in number in Chengdu as modernbuilding in hundreds years.This paper mainly researches modern buildings in West China UnionUniversity. Based on the investigation, I analyze the method of design andsummarize the history, planning and characteristics of modern buildings.Meanwhile, I mention the changes after bring in Chinese and western buildingcharacteristics, as well as the special characteristics.On one hand, I hope this paper will help to survey and grasp moderncampus buildings in macro way; on the other hand, this paper may analyzehow to use different design reasonably, in specific history stages, to createbeautiful architecture and pleasant environment. This paper, based on thedesign and planning and architectural design of the modern buildings inWest China Union University, analyzes and summarizes the development ofmodern buildings, which provides gist of the protections for the buildings,especially after earthquake. At the same time, I try to give some advance toprotect and reuse modern buildings, which enlarge the data of modernbuildings of church university in west China.
