Recent architecture is the most important part in architectural history and academic research. Because recent architecture lies especially moment in old and new exists coinstantaneous and Chinese combine with the West and a connecting link between the preceding and the following .Yan xishan's former residence is a private house of Yan Xi shan who had governed Shanxi province for about 40 years in Min Guo period. It was built in about 1913 and was stopped before the breakout of the Chinese People's Anti-Japanese War. It's a splendid group buildings with various patters of recent times. It's one of the most important part in Shanxi's recent architecture and the precious historical heritage.The research of it helps us get the basic knowledge of the historical background and the relationship between the ups and downs of Yan Xishan's official career and the styles of his architecture.
