Ship power system is closely related to the ship’s sailing, production operation,navigation, communication, daily lives and other subsystems, so it has a very importantimpact on the operation of the ship. Because the ship microgrid its own characteristics, aswell as the use of a large number of power electronics equipment, so the reliability of thepower system of the ship is reducing and the ship power quality is deteriorating. This paperfocuses on the monitoring of the ship grid electricity parameters and designs the ship gridpower parameters monitoring system. This system can real time monitor ship power gridparameters, it is helpfull for mastering the operation of the ship power system. At sametime it has an active role to improve the ship power quality and to ensure the ship powersystem operation security, economic.Structure of the the ship grid power parameters monitoring system is divided into datageneration, data exchange, data mining and analytical applications four levels, specificcomposed of monitoring terminal, monitoring host (monitoring software) and CANcommunication network three parts.The ship grid power parameters monitoring terminal is designed using FPGA andARM structure. FPGA is responsible for controlling analog-to-digital convertersynchronous acquisition grid signal, using FFT operation on data collected at the same time.ARM processor real-time reads the raw data and the results of FFT operation from FPGAthrough ARM’s unique bus interface, and then implements the calculation and display ofpower parameters such as RMS, active power, reactive power, frequency, harmonicamplitude, also implements user tasks such as remote communications, human-computerinteraction, over run alarm. Compared to the traditional single-processor implementationscheme, monitoring terminal in this paper has good realtime and high task processingability advantages.The PC monitoring software of ship power grid parameters monitoring system isdeveloped based on LabVIEW environment. The paper describes the functionality structureof the software and analysis its execution flow. And then this paper makes a detailedintroduction to the design of login program, main program, node program, databaseoperations, CAN communication, and gives the block diagrams.Finally, the paper sets up a test system based on CAN bus which consists of monitoring terminal, USB CAN adapter and computer. Monitoring software running on thecomputer can real time display measurement parameters such as voltage and current RMS,frequency, power, harmonic. These parameters are uploaded by all monitoring terminals.The test results verify the correctness of the design. In addition, a comparison test ofmonitoring terminal partial measurement results is conducted. The results showed that themeasurement accuracy meets the requirements.
