In recent years, harmonic pollution is becoming more and more serious with the rapid development of power electronics technology and wide application of non-linear electric equipment.To guarantee the grid power quality, the non-linear load access must be evaluated carefully. The harmonic limit criteria, evaluation method and suppression method are presented in this dissertation, and a mathematical model of a passive filter is set up, Moreover, a design method of passive filters is put forward.The paper illustrates the model for harmonic analysis in two categories. One category is harmonic sources, which is normally replaced by current source in the process of analysis. The other is the typical power system components, such as generator, transformer and transmission lines, and etc.On the basis of current harmonic research, harmonic analysis program is developed which includes frequency scan for system response and harmonic power flow for balanced system and for unbalanced system. The harmonic analysis program is illustrated on the IEEE133-bus power system and the IEEE14-bus power system which is released by IEEE Harmonics. The simulation results have verified the harmonic program.Finally, this paper depicts an evaluation software of harmonic treatment effect based on the structural characteristics of industrial enterprises to solve harmonic problems caused by non-linear loads, and demonstrates the feasibility of the software with industrial cases.
