The paper based on the electromagnetic driving plate as the research object, the structure of electromagnetic driving plate was optimized through theoretical calculation, the simulation analysis and experimental research. The main research contents are as follows:Based on the electromagnetic driving theory, theoretical motion model of plate was established, the feasibility of the theory motion model of flying plate was also verified by the test, the relationship between the structural parameters of the driving coil and the speed of the plate was analyzed, and the structure parameters of coil were optimized.Using ANSOFT/MAXWELL2D, the numerical simulation of electromagnetic driving plate process was made. The effects of the altitude, the radial width and the number turns of the coil on acceleration and speed of the flying plate was analyzed to further optimize structural parameters of the driving coil. The effect of material and thickness of flying plate on acceleration and speed and the efficiency of driving coil when flying plate is different were discussed. Explore the error existing in the flying plate driving phase of the simulation calculation and the theoretical analysis and the causes of error.The theory and ANASYS/LS-DYNA simulation were carried out about interaction between electromagnetic flying plate and armor-piercing projectile, long rod projectile to analyze the influence of material, speed, thickness and angle of the flying plate on protective effect of flying plate.The results showed that:(1) The number of turns, height and radial width of wire coil had a greater influence on the terminal velocity of flying plate. Finally recommend the height is20mm, the number of turns is not more than eight, the radial width should take larger value in the case of space allows. The coil spacing a and distance b between the first turn to the center of the coil have little effect on the terminal velocity of the flying plate so the selection of the two values can be combined with practical requirements of the engineering.(2) Mutual inductance between driving coil and copper flying plate is greater than it between the driving coil and aluminum flying plate and the greater thickness of the flying plate greater, the mutual inductance between the driving coil and the flying plate will be greater.(3) The thickness and inclination of the flying plate have great influence on the protective effect, so the thickness should be larger and the inclination should be less than25°.
