Space debris analysis is very important for the analysis of the vulnerability of satellite structure. This paper analyzed the vulnerability based on the component level of vulnerability analysis model, then the objective description and damage standards of the model and the study of the criticl components for defensible performance are analyzed specifically. For composite materials widely used in protective field and combined the actual conditions, Based on the combination of theory analysis, simulation and experiment, this paper analyzed the defensible performance of composite board which consists of glass fiber, aluminum foam and steel plate and ballistic trajectory limiting speed of the glass fiber. In order to reduce costing and save resource, the composite target was equivalent to homogeneous steel plate based on the equivalent theory. The ballistic trajectory limiting speed of glass fiber could decide if the target was damaged and build the database for vulnerability analysis software. The main research contents included:(1) Vulnerability analysis model of satellite was built and damage levels and damage standards was analyzed.(2) Based on the composite board equivalent to homogeneous plate, the resistance and thickness of target were the main factors which effected the thickness of homogeneous plate. This paper mainly analyzed the012.7mm cylinder debris which strike different composite targets perpendicularly.(3) This paper analyzed the defensible performance of four kinds of composite targets. The results showed the protecting effect of composite targets which consists of glass fiber, foam aluminum and steel plate and foam aluminum is in front of glass fiber is good, because the debris firstly penetrate foam aluminum which can consume the kinetic energy of debris and slow down the speed of debris and increase absorbing energy area to improve the penetration ability of target.(4) Ballistic limiting speed equation was built.φ12.7mm cylinder debris striking glass fiber plate perpendicularly was analyzed. Finite element model about φ12.7mm cylinder debris striking glass fiber plate perpendicularly was built.
