In recent years,under the background of the emergence of the world’s energy shortages,environmental damage. Methanol gas,for its abundant, cheap and other outstandingadvantages, is considered to be one of the best clean alternative fuels.The cars using Methanol gas as fuel promote the development of engine electroniccontrol application, the ways to control methanol gas engine also needs stronger system toachieve, thus the attention to develop more high performance and more stable electric controlsystem attracts our eyes. The research and the development of modern electronic controlsystem mainly focus on: the controller becomes smaller, has faster processing speed andgreater processing space; The senor needs more miniaturization, integrated and intelligent,capable of temperature, voltage compensation,can output digital signals directly, and hasanti-jamming ability; The Control software changes from the optimal to adaptive control, toself-learning control, finally to neural network intelligent control.Firstly, the methanol system designs were introduced, including the cracker design, thedesign of the gas duct and filter, describes how to build methanol gasoline engine on thebasis of the original engine, and build a gas engine test bench and debugging platform for itscontrol system, increase the development process of the ECU.This paper develops a controlled multi-plate ECU of methanol gas engine, which notonly can fulfil a variety of signal acquisition and controlled functions requirements, but alsorealize short cycle development and low cost. In this paper, the multi-piece ECU of themethanol gas engine for its research and development control system can fulfill its basicfunction. On this basis, the paper also describes the different between the ignition andinjection control in traditional way and in modern control methods,the design of program istested in different engine operating conditions and different environment. With detailed designfor hardware and software design of gas injection and ignition control system, propose themost effective control method. Finally, the control system developed in this paper is applied to test in a good enginebench,the paper uses NISSAN HR16DE gasoline engine as the research object.Theelectronic control system of methanol gas engine was compared with its original engine inbench testing and debugging. The results show that the design of the system not only achievethe requirements of power and emissions, but also fulfil the stable of control process, whichprovides the basis for the next step to improve software systems and hardware systems..
