With the rapid development of national economy in our country and the increasingefforts in infrastructure construction, the market demand for all-terrain crane is also growing.All-terrain crane can move quickly, drive long distances, and work in a small and poor groundoperations. Hydro-pneumatic suspension(HPS) is one of the key technology of all-terraincrane chassis design, and it is also necessary conditions of multi-axle vehicle chassis.Currently, research and development efforts of all-terrain crane is also growing in our country,especially the study of HPS is more and more, but the gap is still very compared with abroad.In view of all terrain crane has the characteristics of multiple axle, adjacent two axles’suspension cylinder in parallel and the left and right sides of the suspension cylinderconnected, This article mainly to multi-axle HPS of all-terrain crane as the research object,and the following several contents are included:(1) Nonlinear mathematical models of the double chamber suspension cylinder isestablished, and its simulation model is set up based on AMESim software. Comparativeanalysis of the displacement and velocity characteristic curve of suspension cylinder’s outputforce under the sine excitation signal. Verify the validity of the simulation model.(2) Seven-DOF mathematical model of all terrain crane’s two axles HPS group isestablished, and its simulation model is set up based on AMESim software. Analyze thevibration characteristics of t displacement, acceleration, roll angle, pitching angle, and systempressure of two axles HPS group.(3) Comparative analysis of maximum of group’s system pressure, tire dynamic load,vertical acceleration and roll acceleration about independent two axles HPS and two axlesHPS, and obtain that the performance index of two axles HPS is superior to independent twoaxles HPS.(4) The whole vehicle vibration mode of all-terrain crane is established, its simulationmodel and the random road surface spectrum model is set up based on AMESim software.Comparative analysis the influence of the different diameters of the orifice to the vehiclecharacteristics of vertical vibration, pitch vibration and roll vibration under the random roadsurface spectrum model ofA, B, C, and D.This paper implemented using the AMESim simulation software to model and simulationresearch of multi-axle HPS. This method can be applied to model and simulation research of other multi-axle HPS, the results of this article has reference value in design and engineeringapplications of HPS.
