Highway construction and maintenance consumes a great deal of asphaltresource every year, also needs a lot of asphalt processing and transportationequipment. The traditional asphalt heating tanks need special vehicles fortransport, and a lot of heat loss was produced in transport. The vehicle typeasphalt tank can solve the problem very well and over the time of construction,and the vehicle type asphalt heating tank has been paid more and more attentionin recent years. The low heating efficiency and temperature uneven of asphalthas been the focus of research. The present main study of the vehicle typeasphalt heating tank is focused on the burner and reducing heat loss of heatconduction oil and asphalt tank wall and so on, but less research was made in theinternal temperature field of asphalt as well as heat convective.A large vehicle type asphalt heating tank is researched in this paper, mainlyin the low asphalt heating efficiency and unbalanced temperature. The followingcontents are studied by theoretical analysis、computer simulation analysis andexperiment:1) Study on the heat transfer mechanism in the process of asphalt heatingStudy on heat transfer mechanism of asphalt tank which take the heatconduction oil as heating system, considering various factors which affectingheat transfer, then calculate the heat transfer coefficient formula of oil andasphalt, and find out a reasonable ways to improve the heating efficiency.2) Analysis of the temperature field of asphalt in asphalt heating tankTo analyze the temperature field of asphalt in the asphalt tank by fluiddynamics and heat transfer analysis software—FLUENT, obtaining thetemperature distribution, and verify its correctness by analyzing the measureddata.3) The layout optimization of stirring device in asphalt heating tankContrasting several different layouts of stirring devices in asphalt heatingtank, and Study the flow field by CFD Technology, obtaining reasonable mixingdevice layout, besides the correctness is validated by the experiment results. This paper has important reference value to improve the heat transferefficiency of heat conducting oil heating system, and optimum the design ofvehicle mounted asphalt heating tank and other asphalt transport and processingequipment.
