This paper is to provide a power management scheme for the student apartment. With the development of times, we need more household appliances. Now there are more kinds of electrical equipment in the student apartment. The electrical safety of the student apartment drives more attention. During the research, we design a system that can handle the power supply of the apartment appropriately. The main parts of this paper contents as follows:1. Planning the main structure of the system. Figuring out the base function of the system. Dividing the system to different parts according to the function. Doing Analysis on the possibility of scheme.2. The analysis of the power metering, Picking up an appropriate CPU for the measuring terminal. Thanks to the flexible of the MCU, we can figure out different algorithms for the distinguish of the power loads.3. The design of voltage and current sampling circuits power supply circuit、display circuit、 the circuit which can drive the chopper、 communication circuit. We do some program for each function module circuit and improve the algorithm for better use to the system, which can improve the accuracy of the system. Make sure the operation of the system is unfailing.4. We test the prototype of the system. Doing song improvements to avoid the interference from the outside. We replace the actual power load by a model experiment. Figuring out the performance of the system, we draw the conclusion that the system can do the power measurement accurately. It can distinguish different kinds of power loads. The system is base on MSP430FE427. The MCU has a power metering unit inside, The metering parts and the control parts units together which is different from the traditional power metering system. With the control MCU we can design various algorithms, so that the system can distinguish different kinds of power loads.
