Treatment Of Phlegm Stagnation Type Of Epilepsy Clinical Research Of Chinese Wood Shellfish Soup Only Epilepsy

BACKGROUND:Epilepsy is one of the most common neurological diseases, with a sudden ill, a variety of onset forms, repeatedly delayed and so on. Most of them with standardized use of antiepileptic drugs can effectively control, but some patients after standardized treatment are still difficult to control, to get the desired effect with a simple western medicine is difficult, which gives the patient, the whole family and the community heavy economic and mental stress. The Chinese medicine is a dialectical, personalized treatment, mild and less side-effect, in the treatment of epilepsy, has obvious advantages. Lack of uniform treatment standards, scientific parallel-group study, Chinese medicine is poor of objectiveness in clinical trials, resulting in lower medical community acceptance. In this study, using Chai Bei Zhi Xian Decoction to ended epileptic seizures of30cases of phlegm and Qi stagnation epilepsy patients observes the clinical therapy efficacy and safety.Objective:To through clinical observation of Chai Bei Zhi Xian Decoction, in treating the phlegm and Qi stagnation type of epilepsy, evaluate the effectiveness of Chinese medicine treatment of epilepsy and safety.Methods:30phlegm and Qi stagnation epilepsy patients take Chai Bei Zhi Xian Decoction, three months for a course of treatment, observed for two courses. Using self-control method, observes the changes in the indicators after treatment to determine the overall efficacy and safety.Results:In the observation of30cases,2cases basic controlled (6.7%);10cases not controlled,33.3%; deteriorated in one case (3.3%) The total efficiency is63.4%.In8cases of General Tonic Clonic Seizure, there is one case basic controlled (12.5%),2cases efficiently controlled (25%), one case of poor efficiency (12.5%), four cases of ineffectiveness (50%), the total efficiency is37.5%. TCM syndromes (primary disease) are analyzed by each symptom, twitching (myoclonus) duration has statistically significance improved after treatment, but there is no significant difference in the remain symptoms.EEG improves5after treatment (16.7%), EEG changes after treatment has no statistical significance.In the observation period, only2cases (6.7%) had mild fatigue, dizziness, loss of appetite and other slight reactions, and there is no effect on the patient’s urine, blood, liver and kidney function Conclusion:Chai Bei Zhi Xian Decoction has the efficacy and safety in controlling phlegm and Qi stagnation type of epilepsy seizure, by reducing the number of seizures, controlling twitching duration of General Tonic Clonic Seizure, but it’s necessary to make further study to improve the therapeutic effect in EEG.
