Fang Qi And Blood And Water Treatment In Chronic Heart Failure

In recent years, chronic heart failure (CHF) has been the important disease which is harmful to the health of people life. Although modern medicine has got great progress on the study of CHF, there are still many problems up in the air, such as5years’survival rate is lower than fifty percent, the quality of life is low, CHF is easy to relapse, and the modern medicines have many side effects. While traditional chinese medicine(TCM) has accumulated much valuable experience on treating CHF, which can effectively relieve patients’symptoms, improve patients’exercise tolerance, improve the quality of life and reduce the relapse. According to the theory of qi and blood of TCM, Professor LinQian creat the the "YiQi HuoXue LiShui" prescription which is aimed at the basic pathogenesis of CHF, which has achieved good clinical effect.Objective:To evalute the clinical effect of "Yiqi Huoxue Lishui Prescription" on treating CHF by observe the following indicators:TCM syndrome and main symptom scores, cardiac function, NT-proBNP,6minutes’walking test (6MWT), quality of life scale combining traditional Chinese and western medicine, and cardiovascular events.Methods:Using the randomized, controlled and add-on design clinical research methods, classify80patients into groups of treatment and control according to3:1,60patients in treatment group and20patients in the control group, they are both treated with standard western medicines according to the2012ESC CHF guidelines, patients in the treatment shall take Chinese traditional medicine of "Yiqi Huoxue Lishui Prescription" per os, the course is four weeks. Then observe the TCM syndrome and main symptom scores, cardiac function, NT-proBNP,6MWT, quality of life scale combining traditional Chinese and western medicine, and carry on a follow-up after six months.Results:1. TCM syndrome and main symptom scores:after the treatment, two groups’ TCM syndrome scores both statistically descend(P<0.05), the treatment group is more obvious(P<0.05)。After the treatment, main symptom scores in two groups both descend significantly compared with before (P<0.05), among them, weakness, palpitation, chest distress abdominal distension, inappetence in the treatment group is more obvious. The effective rate of TCM syndrome of treatment group is significantly higher than the control group(P<0.05). 2. Cardiac function:after the treatment, two groups’ LVEF both rise statistically than before(P<0.05), the LVEF of treatment rises from41.17±8.85%to48.73±6.24%(P<0.05), LVEF of the control group rises from40.65±6.75%to45.30±5.17%(P<0.05), the treatment group is obviously more superior than the control group. New York Heart Function Assessment of two groups both descends statistically than before (P<0.05), the treatment group is more superior (P<0.05). Effective rate of New York Heart Function Assessment of the treatment group is more superior than the control group (P<0.05).3. NT-proBNP:after the treatment, NT-proBNP of two groups both descend significantly than before (P<0.05), the treatment group is more obvious(P<0.05).4.6MWT distance:after the treatment,6MWT distance of two groups both rise significantly than before(P<0.05), the treatment group is more obvious(P<0.05).5. Quality of life scale combining Chinese and Western:after the treatment, scores of this scale of two groups both improve significantly than before (P<0.05), the treatment group is more obvious (P<0.05).6. Cardiovascular events:six months later, the rehospitalization rate because of CHF is20.33%in treatment group and35.0%in control group, the treatment group is obviously lower than the control group (P<0.05); cardiovascular death in two groups are of no statistically difference (P>0.05).Conclusions:"Yiqi Huoxue Lishui Prescription" has good clinical effect in the treatment of CHF.1."Yiqi Huoxue Lishui Prescription" can descends TCM syndrome and main symptom score;2."Yiqi Huoxue Lishui Prescription" can improve CHF patients’ cardiac function and6MWT distance;3."Yiqi Huoxue Lishui Prescription" can descends NT-proBNP level;4."Yiqi Huoxue Lishui Prescription" can improve score of quality of life scale combining chinese and modern medicine;5."Yiqi Huoxue Lishui Prescription" can reduce the rehospitalization rate.
