Garden of medicinal plants were point to have the medicinal value of medicinal plants used in the landscape construction as a green building material, make them fully reflect its effect in landscaping and bring the pleasure sense at the same time, also have the function of prevention and treatment of diseases, access to ecological, ornamental, medicinal and economic value of the four unified. There were three kinds of common garden of medicinal plants, Punica granatum Linn., Camptotheca acuminate Decne and Aesculus chinensis, which distribute in Xi’an were selected as research materials in this paper. The composition of the leaves of volatile substances was studied, and the effect of antibacterial and antioxidant of aqueous extract from leaves was also discussed. This paper can provide the data for expanding the range of applications and features garden construction.The volatile substance from three kinds of materials was extracted by steam distillation, and analysis its constituents by GC-MS. The results show that volatile components including follow compounds types:esters, alcohols, ketones, terpenes and alkane, which priority to ester, terpenes and alcohol compounds. The main components of Punica granatum Linn, were (Z,Z,Z)-9,12,15-Octadecatrienoic acid and n-Hexadecanoic acid, with content27.307%and11.620%respectively. Ester compounds accounted for51.294%, alkane accounted for13.214%and3.948%alcohol in the Aesculus chinensis. The main ingredient of Camptotheca acuminate Decne was the terpenes, caryophyllene content was the highest (17.690%)The disc diffusion method and the tube dilution method were adopted to measure the antibacterial circle diameter and the Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) respectively of the aqueous extract from the leaves of three plants. There were bacterial, Escherichia coli, Bacillus subtilis and Staphyloccocus aureus. Fungus included Aspergullus niiger, Rhizopus and Penicillium. The results indicated that the aqueous extract of leaves of Punica granatum Linn. and Camptotheca acuminate Decne had certain bacteriostatic action. Aesculus chinensis almost had no effect to Fungus.The aqueous extract from the leaves of three plants scavenging activity on DPPH radical was detected by UV-VIS spectrophotometry. The results showed that:aqueous extract of the three materials have a certain DPPH scavenging effect, compared with the positive control BHT, the aqueous extract of Punica granatum Linn. and Camptotheca acuminate Decne DPPH radical scavenging rate were greater than BHT; Aesculus chinensis DPPH radical scavenging rate was less than BHT.This study showed that:three medicinal plants are used in landscaping construction suitable and their volatile release of beneficial substances not only can be used to improve air quality, but also beneficial to human health. |
