The various aspects of human life have been saturated with the influence of theInternet. Along with the rapid development of the Internet,the network languagegreatly changed people’s daily life. People are enthusiastic to this new language toextensive concern. Therefore, do further researches to network language from allaspects is imperative.Whether domestic or abroad, linguists are mainly concentrated on the networklanguage of meaning, properties, types, characteristics, influence, the attitude of thenetwork language and regulative principles. Researches of network language from thepragmatic perspective are rarely done. I accidentally learned about the new theory ofmemetics in pragmatics, thus try to do a qualitative analysis to network language withthis theory.Meme and language influence each other greatly.Language memetics can revealcertain survival rules of language by making a study of meme and language.Language meme gives profound influence to network language in its evolutionprocess.Among all kinds of memes, the most abundant and influential meme isvocabulary meme. Based on analysing a large number of new network words,thisstudy do research to network language from aspects of strong meme, memeplexes,lifecycle of memes and meme forms of memetics.The emergence of memetics provides new ideas for further research of networklanguage,which has the values of theory-developing and practical application. Byanalysing amount of current network words,this paper attempts to do a research tonetwork language from the new perspective of pragmatics aiming to explore thesurvival rules of network language. Besides that, hopes it can do a contribution tomemetics application and development.In the end, I hope to cause great concern forthe network words in teaching Chinese as a foreign language and provide some helpto network words teaching in the future, which is also the exact purpose of this study.
