| In recent years, memetics was introduced into China. Scholars and experts just began to study it at its early stage, but it has displayed its great impact after its birth.Network language is for netizens to communicate online, which breaks the constraints of the traditional language laws and makes the communication more convenient and quick.The birth and development of memetics are based on biology theories. Genetics has a great impact on memetics and meme is evaluated directly from gene. The scope of memetics is enlarged by Darwin’s evolutionism. There is a breakthrough on the study of network language via memetics, i.e., from the surface to the deep. The intrinsic features of network language are explored as duplicability, variability, limitability, abnormalness and uncontrollability, through which the birth, development and death of the network language are analyzed effectively. Like the social nature of human, network language has its own social properties:development with the time, localibility, community and unity. Which become the foundations for the social control on network language? Of course, the development of network language is far from maturity. Thus it has negative influence on the society. The present paper makes proposals on its social control.The present paper includes five parts. The first part introduces the biological basis of memetics, especially genetics and Darwin’s evolutionism. The second part covers the features of network language and the courses of its fashion. In addition, a brief introduction is made about the present study of the network language. The third part analyzes each property of network language in details. The last two parts cover the sociality of network language and displays its negative effects. At the end of the paper, proposals are made on its social control. |
