To most Chinese nowadays, both rightists, who advocated the quintessence of our country in the music during the late19th and the early20th century, and their rightist music thoughts are the bywords for backward, dogged, stubborn thoughts which blocked the development of the society, to some extents, these names are with more derogatory sense in appraising their historical functions in modern music history than commendatory one. therefore, these rightists and together with their thoughts have been criticized ever since, their contributions to the society and their historical status have never been recognized.Today, when we picked up their thoughts again from the historical museum and re-read, we suddenly found that what they did more than80years ago is just what our Party and society is advocating us to do today. Yes, their patriotism, their commitments to their career, their contributions to the national music, their hard-working efforts have made us feel so excited and impressive and unforgettable that one day an idea suddenly came to my mind that we should give then an objective and fair appraisement and history shouldn’t neglect or forget them. This made me choose the research on the development of rightist music thoughts in modern music history as my graduation thesis and I think it is worthwhile for me to do this kind of work which seldom have been done before and now in our country in honor of our predecessors in this fields. The thesis,《a Research on the Development of Rightist Music Thoughts in Modern Chinese Music History》,consists of3parts,the first chapter is about reasons analysis of the emergence of the rightist music thoughts in the modern history, the second part is about rightist practices and specific thoughts in their modern music fields including3sections, the third chapter is its detailed characteristics and influence on modern Chinese music history and with the last part of its conclusion. I hope that rightists, who advocated the quintessence of our country in the music during the late19th and the early20th century, shouldn’t been forgotten or neglected, we should remember them and their patriotic deeds. Their historical status and functions in modern Chinese music history should been recognized. I myself sincerely respect them and theirs and I expect my thesis can help some of the people know a little bit more about the rightists and their efforts for renaissance of our culture in modern Chinese history.
