This essay is mainly focus on the studies of Modern Fiber Art in South Korea. This essay also illustrates the experience about the develop process of South Korean Modern Fiber Art and gives a discussion about the creation of art works; different forms and styles. It has the actual model value for our country’s Fiber Art development in China.There are three parts in this essay:The first part is focus on South Korean Modern Fiber Art combining the three factors:technique, industry and art; and four research developing processes of South Korea Modern Fiber Art. The second part mainly shows the making form and the theme of the South Korean modern dying, tapestry, fiber quilt and soft sculpture, in this section not only introduce the main character of each form, but also listed a great number of examples to assist the content. This section points out the making character of the South Korean Modern Fiber Art, and provides practical creation idea and making method. The last part is the conclusion of the first two parts, and specifically point out which is worth to studying, and give some constructive advice for the Chinese Modern Fiber Art in future.In China the study of the Modern Fiber Art started from1980s. As a material and the fundamental research aspect, it is much less than other studies of art; therefore, the condition of study of foreign Modern Fiber Art is not so good and rich. In recent years, with the increasing of foreign art exchange program, the researches of US, Europe, Japan’s Modern Fiber Art have also developed, but the research of South Korea’s Modern Fiber Art was not systematically developed. If this essay can enrich the research materials of Fiber Art’s theory in China, it will help us to accelerate China’s Fiber Art development.
