SAF, Mai Li Si Film Narrative Of Cultural Identity Creation

The thesis focuses on the Mongolian nationalities’movies which is directed by the couple Saifu and Mailisi,"Genghis Khan","Eastern Heroes","Knight","Sadness of Brock Steppe","Grassland of Heaven" creates a structural study on Mongolian movies’narrative and cultural identity by using the theories of cultural studies.The first chapter briefly describes the history of Mongolian film, defined the concept of Mongolian Movie, Inner Mongolia Movie and Mongolian-source Movie and Mongolian Nationalities Movie, and introduced the main works of the thesis Director Saifu and Mailisu, and their Mongolian Nationalities Movies. The author agrees with Prof. Hairihan’s opinion on Mongolian Nationalities Movies, based on cultural principle, author’s principle and source’s principle.The second Chapter focuses on the Mongolian region and languages of the Mongolian Movie narrative. The authors argue that the Mongolian film narrative of Mongolia areas has reflects three aspects, hometown of lives, Mongolian culture and science. There are some cultural-others, identity of dialect, official language rights existing in the cultural elements of movie narratives.In the third chapter, the author studies carefully on cultural symbols of the movie’s narrative, three Mongolia cultural symbols which is "Sulde", Kumiss and Mongolia fashion, to reveal the true significance and symbolic meaning.In the fourth chapter the author analyses the social customs, life customs, religious practices of the Mongolian nationalities movie narrative. The research studies carefully on Mongolian traditional custom of funeral customs, cultural practices, shamanism and Buddhism practices, then indicates the practice of cultural-others in cultural narrative and cultural misunderstanding.Finally, the author studies on the Mongolian Nationalities movie narrative of director Saifu and Mailisi, to explain the Mongolian expression of thoughts, personality and spirit, then explains the Mongolian nationalities’thoughts are based on Shamanism, animism, and with the influence of the Buddhism.
