Social adaptation refers to adapt to social environment. There are two parts of it, one is emotion regulation, which is the core component, and the other is external adaptive behavior, which is the measure of social adaptation. As to preschool children, emotion regulation is about emotion regulation strategies and emotional display rules.Preschool stage is a period of rapid development of individual’s social adaptation, which is important to one’s personality and mental health. Social adaptation is an interpersonal ability. Family and kindergarten are the main growing place for children, so parents and kindergarten peers are their main social contacts. This research tried to investigate parental emotional expressivity and kindergarten grouping’s effect on preschool children’s social adaptation. This research investigated183children whose ages were3to5years old, and tried to find the relationship between parental emotional expressivity, grouping, preschoolers’emotion regulation and social adaptive behavior. The results indicated that(1) Preschoolers’emotion regulation strategies, emotional display rules and adaptive behavior had significant difference on age.(2)Grouping had significant effect on children’s social adaptive behavior, but not to emotion regulation.(3) Parental emotional expressivity had effect on Preschoolers’emotion regulation, and mixed-age grouping is the moderator.(4) Parental emotional expressivity had no effect on preschooler’s adaptive behavior.(5) Preschoolers’emotion regulation strategy is associated with their adaptive behavior.
