Rui Ying monastery is a Tibetan Buddhist monastery with a long history, located in Fuxin Mongolia Autonomous county in Liao Ning province. Religion in China was well developed, after the religious policy delivered at the third session of the eleventh national people’s congress. In this thesis, I make clear the historical process of the monastery’s construction, destruction and reconstruction, and investigate the monastery twice by using on the spot investigation method, studying on the background factors that led to it’s revive and it’s social functions by using relevant theories.This thesis is composed of five parts:In the preface, I introduce the reason for my choosing the subject, the meaning of study, problems. In chapter one, I present the historical background for the monastery’s reconstruction, the activities of the monastery’s living Buddha, its architectural style, the best and worst times in its history. In chapter two, make clear how the monastery is revived and developed, analyzing the inside and outside factors that led to its reconstruction, and Buddhist activities and reincarnation of living Buddha. In chapter three, analyze the monastery’s social functions and problems it is facing. In conclusion, summarize the content of the thesis.
