John Christophe which was written by Roman Rolland has encouraged a largenumber of Chinese readers.The transmission of his sprit also experienced a complexprocess of twists and turns in China. For too long Lu Lings great success andmulticultural background hasnt been sufficiently respected in the history of modernliterature of literary genius. He was Hu Fengs theory of practitioners and has similarspiritual temperament with Roman Roland.In chapter one,I mainly discuss the spreading and influence of Roman Rolandand illustrate in which circumstances that Lu Ling came across him. It is inevitablethat Lu Ling approached Roman Roland.In chapter two,I explore the responsibility and fate of intellectuals from thefates of Jiang Chunzu and John Christopher and reflect on the limitations of thoughtof Jiang Chunzu. There are two reasons that Lu Ling approached Roman Roland:personal factors and social reasons.I illustrate the impact of Roman Roland from thetwo aspects.In chapter three,I introduce the novel of the rich mans sons and daughters anddiscuss the differences between the two novels,especially the strength and souls ofprotagonists. I analysis the differences from the believes of oriental and westerner.
