Investigation Of Xinjiang Yining County Salar Language

This thesis focuses on the language using and language attitude of the Salar in Yining county. This thesis based on previous achievements and fieldwork, makes a systematic analysis by means of literature search, historical research, case study, statistical methods, etc. This paper describes the present language status of the Salar in Yining county, finds the positive and negative factors which influence the Salar language using, learns the relationship among the use, the attitude and the ability of language. This paper applies the Chaos theoretical methods and theories for a better understanding. This thesis is divided into six chapters, integrating describe, analyze with verify and going forward one by one.This thesis contains the following contents, the first part is the introduction. It explains the origin and significance of this topic, reviews on the previous studies, introduces the process and methods of the fieldwork and the paper.Chapter1The introductions about the Salar and the Salar village. This chapter traces the origin and development of Salar people first, and then describes the background about social and political organization, language and daily life. Lastly, the research methodology and basic condition of participants for this investigation is introduced.Chapter2This chapter focus on the present state of language use, and discusses in four respects:individual language acquisition, family language use, community language use, and character. In this part, prominent characteristic occurring in the changing process, such as the maintenances of the Salar language, rapid expansion of the Chinese language, the restricted development of bilingual usage, the Salar language is vulnerable among the minority citizens.Chapter3After the comprehensive investigation of the views on mother tongue, bilingual and active choices, attitude towards children learn native language and creates character, compatibility in language attitude is find out. It has differences and similarities at the same time. The congruity comes through in positive attitude of mother tongue, Chinese and bilingualism. The diversity is embodied in affection and behavior.Chapter4Choose the Salar school as a typical case, introduces the basic information about the school and teachers team construction and the curriculum firstly. Then analysis teachers and student’s language using situation and attitude. At last, summarize the characteristics of language situation of the Salar school.Chapter5The typical case analysis and research of the Salar village which contains four parts. The comparison of language situation between the Salar village and Saipier village, the language using case analysis of "lamu" and the monolingual people. Finally is the introduction of local famous person.Chapter6This chapter applies chaos theoretical concepts to analyze the whole present state of language use by using non-linear, sensitive dependence on initial, Strange attractor theory.
