From the14th century to the early20th century, Chaghatay Uyghur language was commonly used by the Turkic-speaking people lived in Xinjiang and Central Asia. The literature that was written in Chaghatay Uyghur language constitutes the Chaghatay Uyghur literature.Chaghatay Uyghur language has been commonly used by Uyghur, Uzbek and other Turkic people for six hundred years and played a crucial role in developing the Chaghatay Uyghur language and literature. Chaghatay Uyghur literature exists in large numbers and these documents relate to various areas, namely, language and culture, literature and art, religion, national history and other fields. These documents provide very important resource for the study the language of various ethnic languages, literature, history, culture and other aspects.Generally, the development process of Chaghatay Uyghur language in Chinese academic circles is divided into three stages, which are:Chaghatay Uyghur language stage, the classical Chaghatay Uyghur language stage, and the late The Chaghatay Uyghur language stage. The late Chaghatay Uyghur language stage of the time ranges about from the beginning of the17th century to the early20th century. The language of this period is, on the one hand, characterized by Nevayi continued usage during the period; the other hand, the characteristics of the vocabularies and language expressions in spoken languages of various locations pervaded into Chaghatay Uyghur language, which has played a pivotal role in the colloquialism of literature language during the process of Chaghatay Uyghur language’s transition towards Modern Uyghur language. The characteristics of change, however, are exceptionally significant in the late stage of Chaghatay Uyghur language.In my paper Ⅰ wrote the studies on Gul and Bulbul, which written in1740(AH1153) the late Chaghatay Uyghur language period. As we all know, the Uighur history of classical literature in a sense is a history of poetry. In Chaghatay Uyghur literature, the epic genre was extremely developed. The literary characteristic of Gul and Bulbul was mainly studied in my paper. Gul and Bulbul was written by the writer of the eighteenth century, Muhemmed ebu Selahi during late Chaghatay Uyghur language period.This paper uses Gul and Bulbul’s lithographic stones that had been produced by the New Delhi Muslim Printshop, which are now in Kashi City Library, focuses on describing the literary characteristics of the work, in order to better reflect the literary characteristics of the18th century Chaghatay Uyghur language.The article consists of three parts; the preface, body, conclusion and appendix. The preface begins with a brief introduction to the literature overview, and then elaborated on the practical significance of this selected research topic, the research status of this theme, my scope of the study, research innovation and research methods.The first chapter, the full text was transferred using Chaghatay Uyghur language transcription symbols required.In chapter two, first the life of the writer of Gul and Bulbul-Salahi, the main plot of the epic, the main leading roles and the meanings that they have implicated.Chapter three of this paper focuses on the study of the literary features. It mainly studies the creative characteristics, artistic skills and rhetoric features of Gul and Bulbul.Chapter four, the conclusion mainly focuses on the position of Gul and Bulbul in Uyghur classical literature; the shortages that exist in this research and several problems that need further attention.Appendix consists of cited in the literature, a small dictionary, literature printed photocopy, references, Postscript.
