With the development of Chinese hot temperature rise in the global scope, the number of American students come to China to learn Chinese is increasing year by year. In order not to affect the curriculum, the majority of these students will choose to use the holiday to short-term study abroad. This raises many problems to the Chinese Language Teaching:can the teaching plan and teaching methods what satisfy this part of student’s request and the hope, ideal in a relatively short period of time teaching effect? Individual differences between short-term students what impact on their learning requirements? Only by understanding the teaching object needs, goals and interests, to this part of the students to develop and improve short-term Chinese teaching strategy.The research based on the study of second language acquisition theory, taking the second grade students of Princeton in Beijing as the questionnaire sample. The questionnaire contains the basic situation, before and after class situation, classroom situation, examination and daily life five aspects, trying to come to China to attend short-term Chinese training class of students learning situation and presents the most real, most comprehensive, and through the investigation and collection of material summarize student learning rule, hope for the short-term Chinese training class and puts forward some improvement suggestions, and points out that the survey results enlightenment to domestic short-term Chinese teaching.The first part describes the research significance, the research method of this thesis and what have been made in the field of second language acquisition in China and abroad. The second part introduces the operation mode and teaching mode of PIB. The third part details, analysis of the questionnaire obtained data and reflect problems. The last part through the analysis of data and experience accumulation, some useful conclusions and suggestions have been put forward from PIB itself, long and short term of teaching Chinese as a foreign language etc.
