Formed during the period of Qin Han and Warring States, the legend of Sanshen Mountain and Hsu Fu is a corollary of the development of Chinese immortality since the ancient time. For immortality, the first Chinese emperor sent Hsu Fu to Sanshen Mountain to seek for elixir, which can be dated back to "Lie Zi"(an important book of Taoism) and "the Records of History". At present, it is universally acknowledged in academia that Hsu Fu did not find any elixir and fled to Japan. Therefore, Hsu Fu naturally was acknowledged as the forerunner who spread the advanced Chinese culture by both Chinese and Japanese people. And Hsu Fu is worthy of the name:the founder of Chinese and Japanese cultural exchange. In fact, as significant cultural symbols, Sanshen Mountain and Hsu Fu have influenced the Korean Peninsula profoundly as well. It is no exaggeration to say that the influence to South Korea is more than that to Japan. In the premise that the legend of Sanshen Mountain and Hsu Fu has spread in Korean Peninsula and has made some influences, this thesis makes an analysis to the legend of Sanshen Mountain and Hsu Fu, combining the methods of history, philology, folklore and textual research. From this point of view, this thesis not only complies with the requirements of the times, but also breaks the traditional research model, expanding the space for comparison and broadening research horizons. In addition, this thesis also introduces new mechanisms to the international recognition of legend of Sanshen Mountain and Hsu Fu.From ancient times, the ancients in South Korea had regarded Mount Kumgang, Jirisan and Mount Halla as the three magic mountains (Sanshen Mountain) in Korean Peninsula, which was a wonderland or the holy land longed by ancients in South Korea. What’s more, as a significant cultural symbol and phenomenon, it had a great influence on the ancients who were full of enthusiasm about immortals thoughts and became a spiritual home for them to place their flesh and the spirit. The wildly spread of the legend of Sanshen Mountain and Hsu Fu in Korean peninsula is a result of the combination development of the innate Fairy Taoist beliefs in Korea and the immortals thoughts of China. Witchcraft concepts, belief of ghosts and gods are the matrix of the innate Fairy Taoist beliefs in South Korea.Since the Three Kingdom Period, when Taoist and immortals thoughts of China has been spread to Korean Peninsula, they were combined with the innate Fairy Taoist beliefs in Korea and laid a sound foundation for the inheritance and development of the legend of Sanshen Mountain and Hsu Fu in Korean Peninsula. The ancients in South Korea, such as Zhiyuan Cui, Renlao li, Shixi Jin, Yusun Hong, Xiliang Zheng, Jingde Xu and Kezhong Quan receive the immortals thoughts willingly and even created literature represented by sauntering fairy poetry, which also contributed to the fact that the legend of Sanshen Mountain and Hsu Fu is inveterate in Korean Peninsula.
