The ancestral temple, a kind of ground construction, which regularly set nearbytombs is a typical funeral architecture relics of Han dynasty was used to offersacrifices for the tomb owner by their descendants. It’s also known as stone reliefancestral temple Han dynasty, cause its role as a carrier of Chinese stone reliefs. Asone crucial component of funeral architecture relics of Han dynasty, it has importantvalue on facilitating our perceptions in funeral concepts, political system, socialrelations, moral and spiritual beliefs, architectural forms, painting and sculpture, etc.In this study, ancestral temple considered as one civilized symbolization that derivefrom the belief system of Han dynasty. We collected stone reliefs from preservedancestral temples Han dynasty, located at Xuzhou, then focused on their connotationsand exterior characteristics, considering with their distributions and cultural settings,attempt to extract the artistic feature and aesthetic form from these stone reliefs inHan dynasty. At last, the artistic ideology and cultural value of these stone reliefs Handynasty were summarized and discussed.
