Focusing on the fundamental issues such as the relation between the times, experiences and languages of the writer, this paper tries to reveal a "recurrent" world in Han Shaogong’s works. Here," recurrent " includes three meanings:the recurrence of words and phrases; the recurrence of characters’fate in Han’s works and the writer’s recurrent attitude towards literature. These three different meanings are the main issues of this paper."Returning Home" is a typical novel of Han in mid-1980s. The title "Returning Home" is a contradict and a unified expression, but also reveals the law of identity of logic and history. Analyzing on the forms, the "return-go-come" three phrases and steps constitute a logic self-loop; from a historical perspective, in the transition from traditional to the modern era, differnet forces pull warfare in the knowledge when facing the choice between heritage and fracture, they all hope to find an effective and efficient way for the survival and development of Chinese culture, so as to create a lively new form in the future. Novels, plays an important role in this situation. The thirty yesars when Han Shaogong was engaged in literary activities was also an important period of rapid transformation in Chinese society, while Chinese literature also experienced twisted fate, through Han’s works, we can basically see the trace of continuous explore contemporary Chinese literature during the transition period, as well as several important issues. This paper, taking the idea of "recurrent" as a starting point, try to provide a micro and a unique perspective for this ambitious observation.This article is divided into three chapters. Specifically, starting from " philosophy of Ma Qiaoqiao" and "modern philosophy" these two clues, the first chapter analyze the deep meaning of words and the understanding of two worlds, which so called "the shadowed language world" and "the world shadowed by language", behind Han’s two masterpiece-《Maqiao Dictionary》 and 《Implied》 Language always has a complicated relationship with the facts and the life course, which become a big issue in any era.《Maqiao Dictionary》 takes the form of a "dictionary" and create a living "Maqiao world" in the novels. This text experiments leads to the digestion of common language, on the other hand,《Implied》, based on the form of "Xiang dictionary", doubt the code of language itself and turn to explore the area which the words have not yet arrived, in the narrative of different categories of figurative, it reveals the hollow of language in the situation of modernity, and the resulting crisis of knowledge. The logic in 《Maqiao Dictionary》 and 《Implied》 in different, one is a mixed hesitate Maqiao philosophy, while the other is idling modern philosophy. On the whole, these two novels constitute an opposite and complementary relationship.In the second chapter we will discuss the recurrent lives of the characters in the novel. In the novel world, the fate of the characters shared a common thing that people in Maqiao called "root", not only the characters in the revolutionary era, but also people in reform and opening period, their life course were all attached with some kind of "root" and swigged back and forth, these "root" like things would suddenly grow bigger at certain time and secretly affect on life choices and fate of people in the novel.The third chapter discusses the features of Han’s novel and further explores the way for the resources of Chinese culture. A good novel just exists on its continuation, which constitute the real history of the novel. Only novels keep on explore new existence, could people predict the future and find more meanings in the literature works. As a contemporary writer, Han Shaogong, who lived both in city and rural life, has a unique and deep insight on current problems, on one hand, he got ideas and resources from his experiences as educated youth and village life, on the other, he think deeply about many phenomena before and after the "Cultural Revolution". Han Shaogong’s novels are based on the city life, but does not reject folk culture, criticize the so-called intellectual, but not go toward populism.As Heidegger said, our initial starting place is always calling the return of us, but it is not same place when we come back each time. From Han Shaogong’s novel, people always get different understanding of their early experiences when they seek for the original starting point. This course is full of uncertainty, but helpful and able to provide resources for the departure in the future. The ultimate effect of their thinking is critical and is the negation of the negation. People is looking for the" root " when "go" and seeking for the origin of the life and the initial starting point when "return".When all solid things have vanished, layers of chaos would cover the world instead, all values would be break, effected and discovered again, in the intellectuals prattle about the spirit of the age, this concept should be promoted and strengthened. This article hopes to show the readers that how Han Shaogong’s novels explore the "recurrence" with an in-depth will. Through the analysis of his main works, we are trying to show that how he broke the cover and reveal the nature of the world, and discuss in what sense his work realize the justice and critical function.
