Xinjiang Kezier Grottoes murals and Gansu Dunhuang Grottoes murals are both representative of Chinese Buddhist art, however, the difference of the location and the period, to determine the different art style in both mural, the existence of these differences enable us to better research of the development process of Color Painting, and also allow us to get more information and revelation about color Picture copying, sketching and creative inspiration. In the two murals, Buddhist Jataka story painting are very frequently too numerous to mention, this paper starting point is the Jataka story painting, from four aspects of the shape, composition, line, color language to compare the art form of Jataka story painting between Dunhuang Grottoes and Kezier Grottoes. Through this comparison, explore the ancient art of color Picture that style and the course of development and propagation.The second half of the article talked about the ancient art that is the same strain of the art form by Kezier and Dunhuang murals; and revelation of Kezier and Dunhuang mural art to contemporary color Picture. At last, the writter also take graduate creation as an example,elaborate the influence and inspiration on my learning color picture by two ancient murals from different angles include organization the picture composition, use of lines, making color texture and blooming method.Kezier and Dunhuang murals art is the ancient legacy of a valuable asset, and we should inherit and carry forward the aesthetic ideology of them, and applied to artistic creation, so that the ancient peoples mural art has been revitalized in the contemporary art trend.
