Our Special Child Psychology Research Focus Of Co-word Analysis Visualization

With the country’s continuing attention to special education and the vigorous development of special education, many scholars have begun the research of Psychology of the special children. And the number of related literature is increasing every year. Obviously, this good situation offers a great deal of useful research to people who work on special education. However, it brings some difficulties when they utilize and analyze these results. The rise of Bibliometrics provided an objective and scientific way for the scholars to analyze these literature. Up to now, Bibliometrics is not only limited to Information Science any more, it has played a key role in medical science, pedagogy and some other fields. In this research, the data resource is eight periodicals from CNKI, that is Psychological Science, Psychological Development and Education, Chinese Journal of Clinical Psychology, Acta Psychologica Sinica, Studies of Psychology and Behavior, Psychological Exploration, Advances in Psychological Science and Chinese Journal of Special Education, the analysis objects is the literature of Psychology of the special children. Using word frequency analysis, co-word analysis and strategic diagram as main methods, the research showed the hotspot and research fields of the literature during the years of1992-1998、1999-2005and2006-2012. Then it probed into the present situation and perspectives of the research of Psychology of the special children, provided the foundation to the research of Psychology of the special children, and made it fit for the need of practice.The main conclusions of this study are:(1) From the years of1992to2012, the number of the literature of Psychology of the special children in China has showed an increasing trend year by year;(2) Chinese Journal of Special Education holds the most documents in the eight core periodicals of CSSCI;(3) Psychology of the special children has formed various research focus, involved various types of the special children from the years of1992to1998,1999to2005, and2006to2012;(4) In the three time periods, the research focus has divided different fields;(5) In the three time periods, every research field has the distinctive strategic position, and they are located the different developmental stage. In the process of the development, some research fields stay in place, some disappeared gradually, some appeared newly and some are going to dividing into the other fields.
