Dream is a unique physical and mental phenomena, it naturally communicates with literature, therefore gradually been put into the field of literature, become the contents and methods of literature, enriching the literature creation. Dream became involved in Chinese literature began in the distant ancient times,"the book of songs" recorded two poem related to dream, philosophers and historians of Pre-Qin dynasty also recorded a large number of various dreams in their essays. Among them,"Zuo Zhuan" preserved a lot of original dreams, has exerted an enormous influence on later dream works.Due to various reasons, such as age, the tradition of record dreams produced many new changes when developing to the Han dynasty, this article will compare "Shi Ji" with "Zuo Zhuan", to find out the inheritance and new changes from "Zuo Zhuan" to "Shi Ji", and this article will make contribution to the problem of the relationship between dream and literature in the Qin-Han dynasty.This study is composed of3parts:preface, main body(3parts) and conclusion.The first part of introduction is to describe the characteristics of dream, combined with the research achievements of modern physiology and psychology, introduce the double characteristics of dreams:physiological and psychological, imagination and reality, point out the similarities between dream and literature, and then a brief introduction of the relationgship of Chinese literature and dreams in the ancient times. And then describes the object of study, the importance of this topic, current research, the research classification, assessment, and noted the problems identified, so as to clear the research methods and research directions of this topic.The first chapter is mainly divided into two main parts, first of all it introduces the understanding of dreams of the ancient people, they were unable to explain the people and things that occur in dreams, so the "soul" concept has been developed in their minds, and they gradually attribute the souls to gods and thus lead to the ghost worship, when they saw dreams as implied, had a dream superstition come up.The history of our ancient ancestors to record dreams and oneiromancy is very long,until the Yin dynasty there is a clear record, in the Zhou dynasty, oneiromancy system has developed to a very high level, and droped into some political factors. And then outlines the Pre-qin classics to record dreams, focusing on what we find in the oracle bones,"the book of songs" and "Zhuang zi" The second chapter is mainly divided into two main parts, first of all it introduces statistical analysis of dreams of "Zuo Zhuan" and "Shi Ji", for the sake of visual display, the statistical data is seperated in two tables, in accordance with the "year/the contents, content, object types, types, reasons and dream description" and other seven items, combine vertical statistics with horizontal statistics, draw specific conclusions, and describe the special cases.Then it introduce the contrast of thoughts between "Zuo Zhuan" and "Shi Ji", which based on the statistical analysis in the previous stage, the analysis is focus on the changes of the reason of record dreams, the content, warning dreams and dreams imply the result, type etc, combined with a large number of examples, from the outside to the inside, explore the causes of those changes.The third chapter is to find out the inheritance and development from "Shi Ji" to "Zuo Zhuan", through the discussion of the difference between literary value and aesthetic characteristics. In the literary value part, I introduce the different application of using prophecies in "Zuo Zhuan" and "Shi Ji", describe the inheritance and development in depicting people, and thus strengthen the different purpose of recording dreams in "Zuo Zhuan" and "Shi Ji". In the aesthetic characteristics part, I mainly introduce the difference of "Zuo Zhuan" and "Shi Ji" in aesthetic, emphasize on the different background and aesthetic ideas of two works.The conclusion part summarizes the most important features of "Zuo Zhuan" and "Shi Ji"in recording dreams, distinguish the condition of recording dreams in later literary works and history books, introduce the influence of these two works to later works, and introduce the development of future works which recording dreams.This study is based on the collection, analysis of all kinds of materials of recording dreams of "Zuo Zhuan" and "Shi Ji", according to the statistic result, I summarize all these problems, draw a conclusion.
